Performers are competing to receive the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship to support the production of a solo cabaret show.

Chicago Cabaret Professionals Emerging Artist Showcase

At the first Chicago Cabaret Professionals Emerging Artist Showcase, held on August 25 at Davenport’s Cabaret and Piano Bar, LaShera Moore was selected the winner, receiving the Denise Tomasello scholarship Award to support the production of a solo show.

Emerging Artist Showcase 2022 featured Emily Buckner, Lou Ella Rose, LaShera Moore Ellis, Chad Gearig-Howe, and Kristin Sponcia.

Chicago Cabaret Professionals announces new board

The Board of Directors of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals (CCP) is delighted to announce the appointment of six new members to the Board: Marty Balogh, Kyle Hustedt, Gaye Klopack, Pam Peterson, Ellen Winters Reynolds, and Carolyn Wehner.

The new board members join nine returning members in their current position or in a new position: Robert Bailey, Anne Burnell, Cathy Glickman, Carla Gordon, Jessica Jagielnik, Garrett Johannsen, Daniel Johnson, Patricia Salinski, and Catherine Thomson.

According to Board President, Anne Burnell, “This is a dynamic period in the history of CCP because we are growing our membership, creating new programming and developing more member benefits — and the CCP board has never been more experienced. We have members who are business leaders, entrepreneurs, and educators, communication experts, and musical professionals.”

In addition to the 15 members of the board, CCP has an active membership involved in five committees and a dedicated group of volunteers who contribute to programming, publications, communications, advocacy and managing CCP events planned throughout the year.
